February 2011: Celebrating 20 Years in Business

On the 21st February 1991 Nick Dee Shapland started his ServiceMaster Clean franchise business, as a sole proprietor. These formative years as a man and a van gave Nick the opportunity to learn the industry, servicing 50 sites over 2 franchised areas in the first 5 years of business.

Nick worked hard to generate sales, quotes and ensure all work was completed to the high standard that has become synonymous with Deeland Ltd t/as ServiceMaster. He then built upon this firm foundation through careful management, and the implementation of new systems such as the Communal Cleaning System for Social Housing. As a result of this dynamic approach, the business went from strength to strength.

In 1998 the business changed from sole proprietor to a limited business. Deeland Limited now boasts 3 Cleaning Divisions - Residential, Commercial and Communal – with over 300 staff, a fleet of more than 30 commercial vehicles and over 500 contracts across the South of England.

September 2010: Charity Car Wash

In order to support home adjustments needed for a friend and colleague who had become wheelchair bound, ServiceMaster staff organised a charity car wash. The company head office was made available in which to hold the event, providing all the equipment and various staff members got baking so that a slice of cake and a cup of tea could be enjoyed by the car owners.

There was great camaraderie on the day and the fantastic sum of £720 was raised. With a further donation from Nick Dee Shapland, MD of ServiceMaster, we were able to pay for new patio doors to be installed in order to provide a point of access wide enough for a wheelchair.

June 2010 Accreditations Awarded!

In June 2010, Deeland Limited t/as ServiceMaster was awarded the ISO 9001- Quality and ISO 14001- Environmental accreditations, highlighting our continued dedication to providing a quality service whilst making as little an impact as possible on our environment.

March 2010: New Business Development

Deeland Limited acquired the ServiceMaster Clean Residential business for East Berkshire. The business has been re-located to a brand new office called the Home Fabric Care Centre, Popes Farm Business Park, Binfield near Maidenhead.

December 2010 and May 2011: Successful Assessments for ISO Accreditations

We have pleasure in announcing that we passed both our latest external assessments for the ISO 9001 and 14001 for Quality and Environmental accreditations. It was particularly gratifying to read the summary by the assessor which stated:

"Deeland Ltd t/as ServiceMaster continue to provide an excellent service to their clients and are continuing to develop their services. Feedback from a client today was very satisfactory and the company's staff are continually looking to establish a rapport and offer other services as appropriate."

We are very proud of our good work and standards and of our staff that has to adhere to our procedures diligently, as this is what we are measured against. If we say we do something, the assessor will be sure to check that we are actually doing it that way, giving our clients the reassurance that we mean what we say. Our next assessment is in November 2011 and we will continue to work hard to keep up our very high standards.
